If a dog is uncomfortable going to the bathroom on concrete or not outside at all, they can become constipated or develope a urinary tract infection. Our dogs go out to 1 of the ten fenced yards 4 times a day. If you have a puppy, old dog or one that needs to go out more often, we have no problem letting him/her out again throughout the day. Dog friendly dogs get to go out and play together; otherwise they get their own yard to run around and explore.
There is no limit as to how long they stay outside. If your dog is used to sleeping on the couch, then he/she can go out to go potty and come right back in. On the other hand, if he/she likes to be outdoors and is having fun, then we are more than happy to let him/her spend more time in the yard. After all, you can never have too much fun!!
The runs are inspected and cleaned if need be, several times per day. Our runs are large enough to accomadate that occasional accident where the dog is not forced to lie in his own waste.
